Dan A. Sturges
started Sturges DesignWorks in 2005 with the on-going objective of offering superior machine and automation design services
with outstanding customer service.
Dan has worked in medical product automation since 1990.
As a semi-national champion machinist, Dan worked at a major manufacturer of disposable medical research
products. While there, he personally designed and personally built a significant proportion of the
automation systems, including industry-leading membrane handling systems.
Dan
received his degree in Physics at the University of California at Berkeley. Coursework included Servomotor Theory and Practice, Properties of Materials, Programmable
Logic Controllers and Electric Motor Control.
Dan lead the engineering department at a major manufacturer of high-precision
surgical products. There Dan designed custom grinding and coiling systems with advanced features capable
of high-throughput micron and sub-micron precision.
Dan’s passion for practicality, great
design and fundamentals are the foundation of Sturges DesignWorks. Outstanding
customer service will always be its cornerstone.
